Microneedling

Micro-needling is a minimally invasive procedure to reduce acne scars, large pores, fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and signs of aging. This procedure stimulates cells to produce collagen, to improve skin elasticity and skin tone for a more youthful appearance.
Microneedling also helps with other body scars, including stretch marks.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
The pinpricks are made with a pen-like tool that slightly injures the skin, causing the skin to naturally produce new collagen-rich tissue. This new skin tissue is more even in tone and texture - and firmer, too.
Before getting started, your doctor will use a topical anesthetic to reduce any pain. However, the pinpricks are so small you probably won’t notice them later. The healthcare provider will move the tool evenly across your skin so all new skin will be even. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes.

AFTER THE PROCEDURE
The most common side effect is minor skin irritation immediately following the procedure. You may also see redness for a few days. You can go back to work or school after the procedure if you’re comfortable.
You may apply makeup to camouflage the skin during the first few days of redness. Your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is necessary.

RESULTS
Within a couple of weeks, you will see results as the skin works to rejuvenate new tissue. You will need multiple sessions to maintain your results, as well as other facial treatments your doctor suggests based on your goals.
While micro-needling is performed by a healthcare professional, some people try home derma rollers to save money. However, those rollers barely affect the skin - so you won’t see the same results. Only professional micro-needling stimulates tissue regeneration.
